        Modernism was a new form of art that became popular in the mid 19th century, as artists wanted to create a new and more modern way to express themselves through the fine arts. The era lasted up until the end of the first world war and brought a new and unique take towards literature and visual arts that was drastically different from the romantic art of the past.
